Problem
When Web-Syncing I receive message “Internet Exception: Operation has Timed Out”

Resolution:

  • Check Internet Connection. If using wireless internet, try switching to a landline connection and Web-Syncing again. If using a landline makes a difference, you potentially have a weak wireless connection. This increases the likelihood that the Web-Sync will timeout before all the information can be uploaded. 
  • Install latest version of DakStats 3000 from www.dakstats.com. If you don’t have the latest version, you may not be taking advantage of improvements made to the Web-Sync process.
  • If the issue persists, please contact DakStats support to assist in troubleshooting the issue further. 
  • More Information:
    “Internet Exception: Operation has Timed Out” can also be associated with firewall exceptions. If you receive the message as soon as you try to Web-Sync, you are experiencing a different issue. Please refer to DS00018.

    If the “Time out” issue is persistent, you will likely find that you will have more success depending on the time of day that you Web-Sync. This is due to reporting traffic. While our efforts have significantly reduced the occurrence of this message, baseball/softball remain most affected by this congestion.

    If necessary, the current solution to avoid congestion on the Web-Sync server is to link the Web-Sync profile to the backup server, please contact DakStats helpdesk at 1-888-325-7828 or DakStats@Daktronics.com. To change to the backup server, open the DakStats folder in "C:\Program Files\Daktronics\", open "DakSync.ini", remove current and replace new address in appropriate season profile.
