Spotlight on NAIA Basketball Tournaments
DakStats and the NAIA DI and DII Men's and Women's Championship
DakStats software and integrated products played a major role in the recent Men’s and Women’s DI and DII National Association of InterCollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Basketball Tournaments. Each tournament host was equipped with the latest technology to provide the scorer’s table, press, and fans with statistical information for the game, tournament, or season.
Tournament games could be viewed online through the DakStats Webcast feature. Webcast provides shot charts, team averages, scoring leaders, and play-by-play action. All Webcast games display scores for other competitions within the league so viewers can keep up with out of town scores. The Webcast of each game can easily be found at the DakStats Web-Sync site. The Web-Sync tournament site hosts all statistical information for the team or individual. Interested viewers can quickly find tournament leaders and standings at one central location. Throughout the NAIA Basketball season, fans can link to their favorite team to find live Webcasts, conference, team, and individual stat information.
The DI NAIA Buffalo Funds Men’s Tournament held in Kansas City, MO, used additional Daktronics integrated systems for the ultimate in basketball statistic information. The DI Men’s tournament used DakStats software to send live information to Daktronics ProTable displays on each side of the court. A feature, called triggering, takes important plays from DakStats and creates correlating stats sequences to show on the ProTable displays. The transfer is instantaneous, and viewers appreciate the relevant content.
The DI Men’s tournament also boasted instant stats updates sent through the DakStats Press Row Monitor to deliver timely information to the media and announcers during the games. These game in progress updates provided valuable information to TV and radio broadcasts. The use of DakStats Press Row Monitor removes the hassle of printing stats and reduces the effort needed to stay on top of game time action.
